Marissa - Grand Rapids Lifestyle Session - Part I

This was a very special session for me.  This is the first lifestyle session that I've done professionally since opening JW Picture Studio.  I'm so glad it was with Marissa and her family.  No one welcomes you quite like a tea serving miniature bat man and a cheeky (literally) 16 month old who very much understands "stranger danger".  Oh, I forgot to mention Jesse, the literal scared-y cat that secretly loved me. I could tell, I'm a cat whisperer.
When I first met Marissa, I was instantly impressed.  She is going into her senior year at Grandville High and has managed to pay for her own car and purchase her own senior portraits.  A rare gem these days.  A hard working, Shakira look alike, with a smile that instantly captures your attention.
Jesse is her baby.  He is very loved, and I'm sure he knows it.
This is her pride and joy.  I find it ironic that it is a Focus, very fitting I think.
Let me walk you through my visit.  We shall start with getting to know Jesse.
 He's hella handsome.
 He's adored.
But mostly, HE. IS. BOSS. Don't forget it.
As soon as Jesse made it clear that he is king, we moved on to coloring.

Next, we moved on to puzzles.... you could tell this was not the kiddos' first puzzle.

Give you one guess on who "won" the puzzle!?...
Bingo! Good guess.

Next on our list of adventures is a Gotham inspired, impromptu, tea party. Nothing tops this.  I was more than honored to be a guest.

What does one do to follow a Batman Tea Party, you ask?  Play outside, of course.
I adored watching Marissa with her family.  Watching her with her sisters, the love is undeniable.  The same bond can be seen with her Dad and Stepmom.  Backyard memories are the best kind!

Look at those chompers...too cute.
This may just be my favorite photo of the session.  Simple, but sweet.
I'll leave this post with memoirs of Marissa. The beginning of the end is on its way (High School) and then you'll be on to bigger and grander things, but the you of right now will forever be remembered by the ones you love.  Good luck!  Stay sweet.

And remember you have a family of secret superheroes...
Stay tuned for Part II of this blog.
